Kwan was initially designed for a fantasy concept. He was meant to embody a strong, but older and tired character. The initial description I was given was “He’s seen a lot, and so have his muscles”. His dog, Bong-Cha(meaning superior daughter, or “good girl”) was added later as a companion to show Kwan’s softer side and to give him a relatable companion.
